Introduction to fundamental axiomatic system of Yoga. Pt. 1

Today we will consider one of the most major themes in yoga which is called

Studying of any science always begins with any basic positions, whether it is the mathematic, or any other science. These are initial positions which are further the base to construction of a building of this or that science. There are also some base principles in yoga which are a support on which all philosophy of yoga is under construction. All exercises in yoga are deduced from these basic principles. These basic principles are concluded in section which is called as yoga axiomatics.

Why axiomatics? Whence has such name appeared? The name has been arisen by analogy to usual sciences. We will consider, for example, such science, as higher mathematics which, is under construction on three basic steps or stages. These are axioms, lemmas and theorems.

Axioms are meant as certain positions which are given without proofs. Either owing to self-evidence, or for any other reasons. These are some base points, which are given to us initially. Then there are lemmas, which are more difficult situations following from axioms. And at last, there are theorems which include two components: “if …” and “it will”. In other words: “in case of certain conditions the following result will be received”.

Why I have resulted higher mathematics as an example? Actually, communication between yoga and mathematics is very close. Unfortunately, researches on this theme were not spent till now yet. But there is an admitted fact that the concept of a zero has been applied for the first time by the ancient Indian mathematicians. So the concept that there is a zero has appeared. As well the concept of infinite great numbers, or infinitesimal numbers, anyhow follows through all the philosophy existing in ancient India, from which something has been remained and till our time.

In due time I had to be engaged in the exact sciences and when I have started to study deep sections of the yoga, concerning the mentioned basic moments, similarity between mathematics and yoga became obvious. Such impression that some higher sections of yoga and higher mathematics sections, as a matter of fact, are the same. Our higher mathematics is as one of special cases of more deep and non-obvious science - of the higher yoga. We still will talk today in this respect. In a word, there are in yoga such basic principles which are called, by analogy, axioms.

Logic and superlogic

The yoga learns us that Universe system laws in all displays, that Universe in which we now live, are superlogic. As the special case of this superlogic, the concept arises which the logic is called. On the logic base all our life is constructed. Including, the science of our civilisation is constructed. Moreover, all events which are developed round us, entirely get under logic section. So, we live, as the yoga teach us, in that corner of the Universe where the logic is obvious, and such concept as the superlogic is disappeared. But, I wish to pay your attention that the superlogic does not contradict logic. Logic only a special case of display of superlogic. And all people who would like to study thoroughly the yoga theory, should understand it. Because sometimes in explanations of ancient treatises on yoga, we face the moments which to us seem magic, fantastic, somewhere even illogical. And at times, it leads to easing of reason of yogi. He starts to perceive huge weight of the information on trust. Moreover, all plunges into the world of illusions, in the illogicality world, in the world of dreams, in the world of something that weakens reason more likely, rather than does it more strongly. And all it occurs for one reason which consists that the ancient knowledge of yoga leans on superlogic, but this superlogic to us is not always clear. It sharply differs from logic and it seems to us an illogicality. Somehow to compensate our usual daily life experience from what the yoga learns to and calls for, the person starts to say lies in itself to itself and try to give out wished for the valid. Or to sleek and to join that is basically not sleeked and not joined. Sooner or later, it reaches such position that he actively starts to reject the reason, the intelligence, and as consequence of it, rolls down in superstition, in obscurantism, in an illogicality. Here are those displays which are not absolutely pleasant when the usual sane person adjoins to them.

All this happens because the ancient science of yoga was superlogic, but logic was never broken. We with you, living in the plane of logic, not yet fully worked themselves a plane of logic. We are still not completely logical in their actions or in the process of thinking. Faced with superlogic, we tend to attribute it to some miracles. In this sense, yoga tells that no miracle is possible. There are clear laws and rough, there are laws subtle, elusive.

The whole theory of yoga is not contrary to logic, as it may sometimes seem. Another thing is that in their some explanations it goes beyond the level of logic and goes into superlogic. But logic has never questioned superlogic or, conversely, superlogic never contradicts logic.

Practical situation. If you have encountered in the study of yoga with some things, which your mind is not in a position to grasp, it may indicate that your mind is not acutely honed by intellectual exercises. You have not yet reached the degree of abstraction of knowledge of the world to some heights, and you need to seriously work on your mind, to perfect it as much as modern scientists sharpen their mind by various exercises. Or perhaps you have something misunderstood. Sometimes all sorts of errors creep into manuscripts during translation and interpretation, and obviously everything is shredded. You must not eat mindlessly, and without looking, everything that you are given.

You have opened a treatise on yoga in which is written: breathe through this nostril in a such circumstances, do not breathe through the other. And instead of study, a set of things, more like some kind of magic, magic, superstition, than serious science. People wonder how something works not always the same, the main thing is that it should work. But there is explanation for every yoga exercises. It gives an answer why exactly this exercise and that way, and not otherwise.

How did the axioms appear in the yoga? Returning to the theme of our lectures. The explanations sometimes are under construction or in the form of theorems, to use analogy to higher mathematics, or in the form of lemmas. But anyway, are based on some fundamental truths, on some fundamental aspects, so are the starting points from which everything starts. There are axioms - some provisions. And there is a practical application of these axioms, which leads to the whole diversity of yoga. To all the most difficult exercise, again, affecting both the physical body and the mental. But here the question arises. And where these axioms, from which these original position in yoga come from? This first basic step, the first step? Ironically, the answer to this question is not so simple. One could say that it survived from antiquity, or that it is revelation. Higher areas were opened and we were given these truths. Or tell some other arguments that could be neither test nor deny, they can be just mindlessly accepted.

But yoga would not be yoga if it imposed upon the thoughtless adoption of whatever. So there is a very interesting situation. To determine why these principles are taken, and not some other, we can not earlier than we rise above the logic, go into the area of suerlogic. And from the position of superlogic, as clear as day, these fundamental truths will become apparent to us. Or, in other words, a person must first go all the yoga way carefully, perfecting logic step by step. It is by logic method takes everything that the universe could give him. Again, that logic - is just a special case of superlogic. So, as soon as the person will select all that he can take doing yoga, he slowly will move to the next stage of superlogic. Sometimes it is called the spiritual heights, or any other terms apply. And now, with the position of the superlogic, he sees, what items are essential in order to develop the logic. So the circle is closed. To work out the logic of yoga, we need axioms. Axioms are, and we logically work with them. We use them, meditate on them. Increasingly difficult them, get more subtle techniques in yoga. These techniques in yoga fully win back all the problems associated with conventional logic, and get us up to the the level of superlogic, from a position of which it only becomes clear what we should regarded as axioms, or the original provisions. That is how it all cleverly closes. To work out the logic good, we need to be properly chosen initial points, or foundation on which to build this house of logic, which will lead us in superlogic. But in order to choose these points to build the logic correctly, we already initially need superlogic. Close circle.

Exit out of this situation is only one. As you can imagine, we are now addressing these issues, are being in the plane of logic. The explanation lies in the fact that those axioms, on which a whole edifice of yoga is built, were given by those who have already passed all this way. This is a gift from those yoga teachers, who has already passed all of this, has seen and cut the amount of time and effort so we not to waste our time to think up some dubious provisions, which later may lead to the fact that whole our philosophy of logical building of Yoga will collapse. So, they initially gave us the points, based on which we precisely and accurately go through the logic to the superlogic.

The choice of the original axioms in yoga

Thus it is understandable why this section is called Axiomatic Yoga. It is called so because it (axiomatics) in its fundamentals can not be proved. And it appeals to superlogic, which appears much later, with practice of yoga. Just as in mathematics the notion of an axiom. This is the referent position. We have already found that yoga is a system of self-knowledge, that yoga - this is not a religion, not a system of healing, not a system of training the senses, as now attempting to present it. So, this system of self-knowledge must be based on some initial position. And depending on what we choose as the original positions, the system will either be stable, or it will collapse as soon as we start to analyze, using our mind, this or another situation. Therefore, the question of choosing the original positionы or the original axioms in yoga, in fact, the question of life and death of the entire system. I mean the system of yoga. We can not just sit down and think out these provisions. Where is the guarantee that you have actually made up something immutable, something correct and indestructible, that will lead to this result? Everything could collapse. Just as if you want to build a stable home, you need to make sure that it was based on something solid, rather than a swamp, which ravel out, and the whole edifice will collapse.

It turns out that these starting points in yoga, or starting axioms in yoga, were communicated to us by the sages, or by the practice of yoga, which reached a high spiritual level.

Told us to save our time. But they, I emphasize again, unsubstantiated, as long as we live at the level of logic. They can be 100% clear or provable only with the level of superlogic, but not logic. It should be remembered. Sometimes I meet with so a little bit vulgar proposition that all yoga can be bring down to the acrobatic of mind. In other words, to juggle some concepts, juggle some provisions, and that is all and the end. Indeed, one can juggle with the concepts and terms, you can build something, and it will be stable, but only in the field of logic, if we chose them in the plane of logic. And in order that we may construct a building of logic, which passes through logic and through superlogic, there must be some more fundamental principles, which somehow will be formulated within the framework of logic, but as soon as it comes to superlogic, they do not crumble, like many other provisions in other systems of self-knowledge.

Channel teachings of yoga

There is another question. If axiomatic positions were provided us with wise men or yoga men, which are on the level of superlogic, how have they known them? This is really murky secret. We do not know where the teachings of yoga came from. We just do not know it. It shines through the entire eastern culture, through all the philosophical works. Either way, it passes through these or other systems that have reached us. Through the Vedas, particularly in the ancient Indian philosophy. But even in the Vedas, in the myths and legends, the concept of yoga is presented in such a background, as if it originated much earlier than did these stories. While these legends were for millennia. I.e. Yoga has its roots in such crushing distance, that does not seem at all impossible to trace its source, including the source of the axioms.

From logic to superlogic

Now let's go from another side. Imagine such an image. We may come to any skyscraper in cloudy weather, and it would seem that he gets up, gets up and goes into the cloud, where it generally is not visible, as if he had gone to heaven. So, just as yoga. You begin its study and practice, all is reasonable and understandable. Reasonable and simple exercises, some practices, technology, they are applicable, there is nothing like a miracle. But, as the person continues to practice, he rises higher and higher, and as the result reaches such heights that are already on another level, although a single building. And this building - is the building of yoga. Yoga calmly passes through the logic into the superlogic.

Can I break the superlogic by logic?

I want to emphasize, unfortunately, this is the biggest headache for us at the Open University of Yoga. When students come to us, in whose mind, I apologize, is jungle, just a jungle, of obscurantism, superstition, irrationality and some fears. Something, somewhere heard, read something in the tabloids. Mash unbelievable. In other words there is even no smell of yoga. And it is required enormous effort to cut down the jungle, to show inconsistency of obscurantism, in which a man lives invented it to himself. Moreover, you can help just with one way to bring him to the level of logic and say, cut in your life all that does not comply with logic. Ruthlessly cut. Usually people do not cut it. He thinks it superlogic. He is afraid to aim a blow at something for a subtle, some may be personal experience of spiritual revelations, something elusive. He is sometimes afraid to see it even within himself. God forbid, he does something wrong, and this condition will disappear. This sometimes happens. In fact, often the case. The man opened something, which he could not understand, so beautiful, high, supraliminal. And he is afraid to touch it, not to scare it, not not break it up. Friends, this is nonsense. Superlogic, even if you wish, can not be breaken up. All that higher, those revelations that you may be open, they are beautifully withstand the onslaught of logic. More precisely, the logic is powerless against them, it says neither "yes" or "no". The logic is impossible to destroy the highest revelation, which sometimes come to us, as superlogic. But by the logic can be perfectly cut out all the weeds around these revelations, around the present indeed. Superlogic is not afraid of logic. In this way we have to explain it to the students.

Illogicality. Logic. Superlogic

We discussed logic and superlogic. And then there is a so-called "illogical" - a condition which we inherited from the times of life in the bodies of animals. The animals have some glimpses of the mind too, but they are immediately slaughtered by some instinct, some life surrounding the animal. And it once and forget. I.e. glimpses are, but they are replaced by completely illogicality. And there is no critical attitude to this illogicality. So live animals.

Unfortunately, my friends, we are with you in a large part of our life not much differ in our behavior from the behavior of the animal. We perceive something also uncritically in some situations, or behave illogically. And this - is a clew. On the one hand, illogicality, inherited from the times of life in the bodies of animals, on the other hand, logic - is more destiny of a human. And the logic in human life takes an even more dominant position. Superlogic - is revelation, the revelation from the heaven, or some absolutely ecstatic visions. Even people, who do not do yoga, have them sometimes. Suddenly, all at one point becomes clear. Or at least, people knew what we should seek, and what needs to be addressed.

And imagine, all these three ingredients (logic, superlogic, illogicality) to take and mix. Turns vinaigrette. And this salad completely inhibits the development of man in search of something higher. Because people sometimes think that this is his manifestation of super-consciousness, but in reality it is just a hallucination. Sometimes on the contrary, a person thinks that he has obvious hallucinations, but in fact he had just come in glimpses of something "beyond". And to understand this, where the revelation is, where superlogic, and where the absence of any logic, "The Sleep of Mind" or the state of the animal, logic helps us both times. The logic as a blade cut off all non-viable. Therefore the role of logic can not be overestimated. It is absolutely essential in yoga, in the knowledge of higher spiritual laws of yoga.

Maximum use of common sense

The question, then. But what we take as the starting points to apply the logic? But to take these starting points, as I said, we really need some real situations, which will outlive both illogical and logic, and the same will be true in superlogic. Certain axioms of yoga, on which the whole edifice of yoga is building. Hence it should: Once you have a certain fundamental points upon which the building of yoga is constructed, you must first use your common sense and your intellectual capacity to make any conclusions. As in mathematics, theorems are proved on the basis of axioms and lemmas, so on the basis of these fundamental principles, on which you meditate, are produced all of exercises. Whether it is Hatha yoga with physical exercises, whether it is breathing yoga, or as mental yoga. These exercises in yoga, showered on us from not the moon, they are concluded. Therefore, at the Open University of Yoga is considered good form to: if you want to explain something in yoga, no need to appeal to superlogic, which seems to us a miracle. I.e. tell some stories, that somewhere in the mountains, in India, yogis possess that ability, fifth, tenth ... At the same time they are doing those exercises and other exercises and get such results. It all may be true, but appealing to the fact that the level of logic can not catch, is considered as bad form. Therefore, the exposition of Yoga goes, first and foremost, on the reverse. We are concentrating on certain conclusions, why we need to do just that exercise, rather than experience, which was obtained by yogis in their experiments with these superconditions. Another thing is that, at certain stages of such an explanation, we come to certain precincts where logic ceases to operate in principle, that there might be to talk about some super-powers of yogis, or about some wonderful capabilities, but not earlier. If we start to talk sooner, we do not understand ourselves, lose perception of criticality, and start indulging in wishful thinking, obscurantism for true knowledge. That, unfortunately, are very often observed in yoga. I do not say anything bad about our friends the Hindus, but, unfortunately, the level of modern yoga in India does not reach the level of the ancient yoga in India. I do not know for what reasons and do not want to analyze. But it happens that sometimes our Indian friends give us some non-critical situation, and we, the people west, eat these provisions, even without understanding where they came from. And then, in fact, it turns out that this is no revelation of yoga, but only in a village of some esteemed Guru, think so. That is the level of superstition, like if a black cat crossing the road, will be a misfortune. You know that even in Western countries someones misfortune, someones happy, someones in any way. It is all superstition. Well, sometimes under the brand name of yoga, we are not critically perceive a lot of superstitions that come to us, unfortunately, from India. Once again, I do not want to say that in India all the fools and obscurantism. But to find the true teaching of yoga in India, not less difficult than in Russia or on the West.

The fundamental axiom. Now go on

What is the axioms on which everything is built? What kind of situation such that all begin? This theme is a separate lecture, where all these fundamental points are discussed, but some of them may be mentioned now.Во-первых, в качестве аксиомы дается такое положение, что у каждого человека существует его «Я». И это «Я», по определению, свободно. This is one of the axioms. Notice how it all begins. Not with an explanation of the universe, not with an explanation of some higher manifestations, not with an explanation of what is the Absolute or cosmic laws (some things are more isolated from people involved in yoga). No, everything begins with the man. Everything begins with the reference system in yoga. And as a reference system in yoga is selected the highest "I" of explicitly taken separate person. And now they claim that the highest "I" of an individual is absolutely free. And then out of the situation, that the highest "I" is absolutely free, such a thing as freedom is deduced. And much more given. But for the starting point of yoga is not taken abstract Absolute, which, maybe someone had seen, and someone had not. After all, to rise to such a heights, we must do something, but to do something we need to start with something. And in order to start somewhere, we must choose the main starting point. Here are this starting point in yoga is the supreme "I" of each person. Indeed, if to explore everything else by the methods of logic, sooner or later, we arrive at very interesting conclusions, including, perhaps, the existence of the Absolute. But again, you will believe in Absolute no earlier than believe in yourself, in that you really exist.

The difference between science and yoga

Today, I mentioned the mathemathics, and said that mathematics seems to me as a form of yoga. Or a special case of axioms of yoga - it is mathematics. What is the difference between the approach of science and yoga in the study itself and the surrounding universe? Or, at least yourself, because yoga, first and foremost, is a system of self-knowledge. So, what is the difference between science and the system of yoga? Methods are very similar. Both of them have logic. But in yoga, adding that the logic goes into superlogic, but science says that we have come to the front edge of science, where logic is not working. It really is, unfortunately, the realities of science, where scientists, like the blind, feeling about by some mathematical methods what that is there in front, sometimes even can not imagine those objects that are studing. So, what is the difference between yoga and science? At first glance, very much in common. But the difference is, and the difference is fundamental. The difference is in the choice of reference point in the study itself and the universe. For scientists, this kind of external reference system, i.e. something outside, which is equally perceived by each participant or each scientist, no matter where he lives. This system of reference for all is the same. And any discovery in science, it is only then is opening when it is reproducible. And to be reproducible, from this point of view, we need some common frame of reference with respect to which any discovery (whether it is done here in America or Papua New Guinea, or on the Moon) is reproduced, and is reproduced exactly toward a certain foreign reference point, common to all. Yoga says that this is a really good position, quite reasonable, i.e. everything honestly. But yoga does not agree with the reference system. The fact is that this common for all frame of reference is so unreal sprawling thing in the analysis of some objects and phenomena in the universe, that it is inconvenient to use it. And sometimes all you can get is obviously zero results, apply at least the logic, though not the logic, anything you want. So in yoga as a reference system, from which all the objects or phenomenon of self-knowledge are being explored, was choosen the highest "I" of each person.

Indeed, even from the standpoint of ordinary logic, here you are now all sitting and each of you has the supreme "I". You are, at best, can prove that personally you have your "I". But you can not prove that your neighbor on the right or left has its "I". And what if robots came here, or it is your hallucination, which created the people around you? That is, relying on an external frame of reference, these issues fall away. Therefore, it is best to make the system starting from the inside, where it does not matter whether the people sitting around me have a higher "I", or there is hallucination around me. It is more immutable point of reference, which, oddly enough, lets get to know more deeply as the world around us, and ourself. And with the same calmness lets us analyze as those phenomena which are examined by modern science, because nothing changes, and events, to which the approach of modern science is stalled.

The question of morality

This is primarily due to the following questions. And what is the "man"? The man is when he was born, or when it is an embryo, which appeared after the egg was fertilized? Where is the man? Perhaps the man appears at birth, and all sorts of horrible experiences can be done over the embryo? It come to mind to nobody, to do experiments on baby, divide it into pieces, on stem cells, in order to a decrepit millionaire's wounds heal faster. But it is quite possible to saw the embryo for the production of therapeutic sera, only because the next Rich Pinocchio in its 90 years, wants to look at 30. This here is an incomprehensible situation, whether it is morally, or immoral? Science on these matters does not respond. That is not the object of her consideration. And these questions can be summon a huge number.

Unfortunately, there is another more fundamental difference between the science and yoga. Science does not imply morality. Science simply does not know these concepts, because they can not be formalized, but that can not be formalized, and can not be applied. All is subtle, all is abstract. And yoga encourages taking as a source, as a reference point, the supreme "I" of each person, and everyone takes for himself his own "I", regardless of what is going on with a neighbor. I.e. knowledge of the world is, exclusively, with their own position. You can analyze how your life and communication with similar, or communication with certain objects or phenomena in the universe, as well as and transitional periods. Such as death or the process of dying, the state after death, the state prior to birth, and, in fact, the state of birth. The supreme "I", as taught by yoga, is a reference system, which can not disappear. And imagine the external frame of reference. While I'm here, it is - outside. So I began to die, the senses started to deny, mind clouded, and I do not know whether I'm here, whether on Alpha Centauri. Moreover, there are interesting moments of the process of dying, of dissolving the principles of the device of our body that are responsible for interaction, for example, the principle of the space of our body with the principle of the space of the universe. We can understand that the universe has space, if realize this principle in our body. Similarly, all other principles. And now imagine, it is dissolving in me and for me the very concept of space is disappearing. I.e. if it is inside of me had disappeared, he ceased to communicate with the notion of space of the universe, through which I displayed, that all - there is no such thing anymore. I recommend reading the ancient texts, where yogis have described their subjective experiences in a state of Samadhi. It was all very strange, my friends, elusive, incomprehensible.

Science - a special case of yoga

They described very specific, clear and subtle phenomenon. But these phenomena are perceptible and understandable, if we take as a reference system our supreme "I". And they are completely incomprehensible, if we take as a reference system something common, external, like, say, in modern science. Here, therefore, my friends, yoga is not a science, but recollect arrogance and audacity to state the following, that science is a special case of yoga. Again, this is a very arrogant statement, very smug, but on the other hand, even 500 years ago, such thing as science did not exist, people ran almost into skins. And as 1000 years ago ... so especially to boast that our whole Western civilization is such an intelligent, prudent, where everything is proved, and everything is clear, it also means to take no less impudence.

Is it possible to learn the superlogic by the methods of logic?

Here is one of the axiomatic points, or one of the axioms, on which relies, in the future, the whole edifice of yoga. About freedom of our "I" and about the study of everything, according to the position of our "I". Another question purely practical. The fact that we do not yet realize our higher "I". Rather, we recognize within ourselves a conglomerate of feelings and sensations that are really somehow related to our "I". They are transformed, and are, rather, manifestations of our "I", than our own "I". But this is the research questions of these axioms, from which all this appears. I have just now said that each of you is the supreme "I", and it is free. And someone else can now stand up and say: "It is all nonsense. There is no higher "I". Just no. We are material. Our mind works, chemical processes take place, the electromagnetic waves elekromagnityat something, and as a consequence, we get a sense of identity. There is no person and no consciousness. But there is such a complex chemical reaction, which is called a man. And this complex chemical reaction has delusions of grandeur, or a very complex effect to consider themselves exist, although in fact there is no one." And the most interesting is that this statement is formally no answer. We can any amount in words discuss the degree of sophistication or coarse-grained of those processes that occur inside our body. Rough materialists say: "All is mothers. Consciousness is the second time." More subtle materialists are beginning to babble about some kind of torsion fields. Actually according to the degree of refinement of materialism we can arbitrarily long time become closer, but, in fact, answer on that question has nothing. It is axiomatic issue. It does not prove or disprove. More precisely, it can be proved or disproved not earlier than you go up to the level of superlogic. And only from a position of superlogic it becomes clear as daylight that our supreme "I" is absolutely free, indestructible, matters from nothing, etc. Not before. But until then, while we are in the plane of logic, there is no formal proofs. Or to paraphrase a classic, give me a Bible, and in three days I will prove that it was written by an atheist. And then over the next three days will prove that it is a revelation from the heaven. And so I can repeat arbitrarily. Why? Because superlogic can not be known by the methods of logic. But by the methods of logic we can come closer to the superlogic, and then, passing the apparatus of logic, to begin to perceive the universe from the position of superlogic. Because it is inherent in us. But to prove in the plane of logic, that each of you has a supreme "I" is impossible in principle. More precisely, we can try to prove and you will agree with that evidence. It will be very nice, very consistently, and will cause every respect and trust, but you can immediately prove that all these provisions are inconsistent. And yet, where did this situation about the presence of supreme "I" in every living being? Not from the evidence. It took away from the real experiences of those yogis who have already passed all the way to superlogic, and left us this as a starting point, or axioms. Well, first you will develop the logic, completely get rid of irrationality, which pull from the time of life in the bodies of animals, overcome it, and then come closer to the superlogic.

The concept of infinity

I cited parallels between higher mathematics and yoga. The same situation, say in the differential integral calculus. But when I write the symbol of infinity - this symbol does not display the core. I.e. in the plane of logic, I can not understand what it is. I just give a name. Sit down now, straighten the neck, back, head, close your eyes and think about that infinite space with no boundaries is around you. If you strain particular, you will become ill. The mind instinctively in fear will try to find some kind of border, and then will realize that there are no boundaries. This is a very unpleasant sensation that comes from trying to understand infinity. The feeling that borders on fear. Incidentally, the same situation occurs when yogi by chance, through yoga techniques, waddle into a state of suprlogic. The very first impression is a feeling of fear. This is a terrible fear of death. Kundalini Yoga became popular now, but not in the sense that it is such good exercises, which provide a person to open the Kundalini. Friends, and do you know that the first thing that yogi faces, who really starts to wake it, it is the experience of infinity. And it comes as a terrible, brutal, just chilling fear. It is when you suddenly realize that all the foundations on which you relied in life, all those basic feelings, on the basis of which you analyzed everything, suddenly, randomly spread. According to witnesses, it is a very unpleasant condition. And that is glimpse.

The concept of process

Let us return to mathematics. We can not say what is infinity, but can with some artful evasions in the plane of logic approach to the concept of infinity. For example, take one, add another one, add another, etc. The concept of the process is added. Do like this and you come to something. I.e. in the plane of logic do something and you go to infinity, or to some other phenomena. And again, in the same higher mathematics we see the theory of limits. When it is assumed that a certain operation will be executed an infinite number of times (as if we are playing with the infinite), but we got the final result. Once again, so was born a differential-integral calculus, which became the basis for our modern science and now in the modern world nothing can be done without this foundation: no kettle in the factory, or launch a rocket into space. And the mathematical apparatus played with such superlogical concepts as infinitely small, zero, infinity. Well played, played, somehow manipulated. Something to another shared, add, subtract, in its utmost, and so on. And the formula turned out on the output. And this formula can be obtained and apply - to make teapot. Here, imagine you are an engineer at the factory and you were said: "The new design idea. We have to do a round teapot, it is now fashionable round." And you need to calculate the volume. And imagine how you will find the volume of a sphere? Of course, you can experiment. Made smaller, poured more, less and etc. But modern science does not do so. It gives a formula for the volume of a sphere or something else. To get it, you need the integral calculus. Or a ball intersecting with some cone, well, in general, anything complicated. That all have been obtained thanks to juggle with the superlogical concepts, such as infinite series, infinite sums, etc. The same analogy is and yoga. Where there is given by the notion that our higher "I" are absolutely free. We can not even imagine it for themselves . Usually, when we say, here I am, we mean the usual tangle of sensations. But if we analyze and think in the plane of logic (and what will be if this? And what will happen if that?), by only logical approach, but applied to this superlogical essence, which is our higher "I", then, strangely enough, we get very specific results. As a mathematician gets the formula for calculating the cone, a ball or something else, and we get very specific yoga exercises. Breathe through the left nostril, do not breathe through the right. But not because so Yoga Uncle said from some Hindu village. He sat, sat, sun warmed his head, so he has fantasized. No, my friends, yoga was born not like this. It was a long painstaking analysis of these superlogical provisions, which led to very specific methods in the plane of logic: what to do, to get a particular result. In yoga, as well as in mathematics, a certain process is given as an attempt to explain superlogical (which is impossible in principle, being in the plane of logic). I.e. Yoga reduces to the process.

Yoga is not trying to explain what you experience when you will be in Samadhi. Anyway, you do not understand, because I do not have enough reason, neither the imagination nor the sense to imagine it. It is impossible in principle. But yoga offers a process, and if you follow it, then you will go out to these states, will experience them and understand WHAT was had in mind. It turns out that the foundation of yoga is superlogical. Axioms, it is unclear where they were taken from, but were selected as good and well that we can work with them by the methods of logic, without attracting any kind miracles and Mahatmas from the Himalayas. Do not. We have the brain, and we can work with our own brain. The role of mahatmas ends when they give the correct starting point. And if you are not fool, all the rest deduce and rediscover. Once these axioms are identified, we are applying the logic, we come to the process. Yoga as a system of self-knowledge is reduced to a certain process. And this process consist in understanding what, how and in what sequence to do. That is set out in very understandable language. Moreover, WHICH THINGS to do goes by the wayside, because there are different schools of yoga, there are different methods, there are different approaches. Some say: bend in this side and you will have happiness from yoga. Others say: no, should the other side. Third are saying other things. Fourth say that in general physical exercises will be later, but we must begin with breathing. Fifth advised to start with meditation exercises. Someone doing yoga as an acrobat in the circus, in five knots is tied, and someone said, that it is not necessary. And they both get a great result.

The concept of harmony

So, what unites a variety of exercises in yoga? Sometimes people ask me what exercise is considered to be yoga exercise, and what is not? For example, you are doing Hatha yoga. You curled once - is it Hatha yoga exercises, and an artist in a circus did about the same. Question: "Did he do yoga or not yoga?". The funny thing is that any physical or mental exercise can be simultaneously an exercise of yoga and not. The issue is not even in WHAT you do, but HOW you do it. Once again, you are given an axiom, the starting point. And it gives you some indication how to be closer, how to behave next . If we analyze all the types of yoga, in the dry residue will leave, at first glance, a very strange wording which also applies to section axioms of yoga, because it is - basic. So, in fact, no matter what you will do and how you will do. Physical exercises, mental, breathing. It is important the presence of such concepts as harmony. It is abstract and subtle concept. And, therefore, a practical hint is provided, how to approach it. We say that yoga - the science of where you have to make yourself, and where you can afford. The abstract formulation of this sounds so, where to apply the method of Energy, and where to apply the method of Consciousness. And how they should relate to each other. But it is more abstract. But the first method, which I said (the science of yoga - is a science where you can afford and where you have to make yourself), it is the most universal point of reference, like an universal point of reference about the presence of the supreme "I" in every living creature.

Do you make any exercise in Hatha yoga, or breathing exercises, or mental, do you meditate on something - it does not matter. In any case, you are in the process where you strain, force yourself to do something, or the process, when everything works without much effort, and you are simply soaked by the process. You are pleased, everything goes by itself. As a man who rolls the truck. Ran up, pushed the truck, then jumped on it and it rolls. Just the car stopped, he pushed her again. Somewhere efforts, but somewhere on the contrary, a complete lack of the effortSomewhere active change within ourselves and outside ourselves when we do something manifests from the inside out. And in a moment on the contrary, a passive state, allow the situation to be performed, let them go. And so, on this cut, where you have to make youself, and where you can afford, is the invisible face. And if to go on this verge, choosing for the basis the correct axioms, then sooner or later, we arrive at superlogic.

No matter what you do. Whether it is Hatha yoga or breathing exercises. Everyone is trying to learn pranayama yoga, and no one turns out. Some people think that the sooner and longer they will breathe, than will be better. Friends, when divers are prepared for the submarine force, they have to breathe so that yogi could not dream. It is tough. But it is simply technique in case of accident, and it does not mean the internal self-exploration, when you catches elusive, learn something about yourself. So, if this condition is not respected (where you can afford, and where necessary make youself), there will be no harmony. If there is no harmony - will be no process. If there is no process, we will not be closer to superlogic.

The state of joy and happiness - the natural state of our higher "I"

And there is one more definition of yoga, that is somewhere in parallel, but somewhere adds another one. In any case, either you are forcing yourself, or you allow yourself, on the background should be a joy. Another axiomatic proposition is, that the natural state of our higher "I" is a state of supreme joy and happiness. I.e. the state of supreme joy and happiness is not brought by the outside, but is the essence of our nature. The rest only grasp this nature. Yoga provides a process of approach: that when you make yourself, then the background should be the joy of overcoming yourself. When you allow youself, then the background should be the joy of feeling pleasant. I started to do an exercise, my muscles do not stretch, and I say to myself: "I am better! I am going to overcome myself!"

And I start to win myself, of course, within reason, to bone is not cracked, with the subject of common sense. And I rejoice that I am twisted myself a little stronger, body became more flexible, and on the background I have a feeling of joy. Or on the contrary, I made some asana and do not attach any effort, do not force myself. And do not attach any effort, do not force myself. And my body is enjoying the fact that I put him in this position. And something has stretched, something has redistributed. Feeling like when we are in the morning, waking up, stretching and yawning. The same joy and bliss. There must be a sense of joy both of overcoming and of permission.

What does this lead to? It leads to such concept as a harmony. Harmony is elusive thing. Indeed, even the notion of "inner happiness" - is an elusive thing. All these are subtle things. But on the other hand, this process is in the plane of logic. Sooner or later it will lead us to superlogic. Again, to get closer to superlogic, it is necessary that the body was in good physical shape, or the mind would not develop. In fact, border, where our physical body ends, and the mental processes begin associated with the mind, very shaky, it is actually not. If the physical body bring you great bother, it will cast doubt on all of your mental exercises.

So, of course, the yogi starts with the physical body, leads it in the waking state. Then he begins to sharpen his mind, more and more, again, in the plane of logic. It can be by the famous meditations, unidirectional meditations, when we direct attention to the one object or phenomenon and trying to restrain him. If we succeed in this, we achieve a higher state of yoga, it is called a state of Samadhi. This state of high ecstasy, absolutely non-transferable, and in essence it is the way to superlogic. Output in the fact that it is impossible to explain in ordinary words. Moreover, what we can not even think coherently, as long as our mind can not be reconstructed, and will not digest these thoughts or this experience.

That all we need to develop the mind, just as we develop the body. And here is the same method: where necessary - make yourself, and where you can - allow yourself. Instructed that the yogi should not, I beg your pardon, lead this almost brutish existence, in which is engaged the major progressive mankind, spending days of the week in TV, in any kind of entertainment, very doubtful, or in pursuit of some quite dubious pleasures. Of course, we need to rest and relax. But it should not take 100% of our time. Some part of our mind must be directed to self-education and to keep your thinking mechanism in a good tone. Should we from tomorrow only do self-teaching? No, we must find the right strategy in our life and somewhere to make ourself. Many people, for example, learn foreign languages. Very good exercise for the mind. Somebody studies other miscellaneous sciences. But you should not swing your hand at youself under the influence of advertising. Under the influence of mental press, which now, unfortunately, overwhelmed our civilization, and will disappear very quickly. Because those roots that nurtured him, were undercut, left only to wait until the leaves will showered. I am referring to the crisis in the U.S., he reshape our civilization by 100%, there is no doubt. So, for the development of our mental abilities we must not only exert ourselves, but, somewhere, to let go.

Summary

A small summary of the lectures. Yoga is superlogical, but the first part of the way we should go in the plane of logic. Superlogic does not contradict to logic, and logic does not contradict to superlogic. Plain logic - a special case of superlogic. The basis of axiomatic are certain axioms that are superlogical and are given without proof, just as a gift from the higher spheres. Because in the plane of logic they can be neither confirmed nor denied. But you can work with them in the plane of logic, and work by a method which is given by yoga. By the method, where you have to force yourself and where you can afford, or by the supreme harmony, by the supreme joy. Applying this method, and using these axioms, applying logic or logical constructs, we will sooner or later come to superlogic, that in yoga, in the particular case, is called as Samadhi, is one of the variants of the name. And now, with the height of this state of Samadhi, we can confirm for ourrself the correctness of the choice of axioms. Only from a position of superlogic it becomes quite obvious, not requiring proof, that these axioms have been chosen correctly. Oddly enough, but the first step in yoga we are doing under the influence of the fact that yoga is classified as an authoritative testimony. The ancient yogis told us, that we should choose this method, we did not have the own experience, we have no proof, but we trust them somewhere, relying on word of honor, on the authoritative testimony. And in the future, using logic, common sense and the method, we rise to the level where it becomes apparent that we were not deceived. And that authoritative testimony - is really authoritative testimony, and not delusions of some Hindu from the village, whose head was baked by the sun and he started some tall tales to spread around the world. That, unfortunately, happens sometimes.

And, finally, the last thing I wanted to touch. Is there an example of superlogic which we are now facing with? Well, actually, not all had some revelations of something higher, some glimpses of Samadhi. Here in real life did we face with this or not? In fact, there is a theme that is superlogical. And this theme is kindness. Compassion is by definition an elusive thing. Can we say that a person, country, a phenomenon - good or bad? We can provide no rationalizations of kindness. But at the same time, each of us has a wonderful feeling of what kindness is, but where is no smell of kindness. So, oddly enough, goodness is the glimmer of superlogic that shines in the plane of logic, not contradicting to the logic, but at the same time and not explaining the logic. You will not be able to prove not only someone else, but even to yourself, from the standpoint of logic, that you should be good. Rather, you logically explain to yourselves, that it is more profitable to be evil. "To privatize" everything that is lying bad, "to order" the competitors, that they would not interfere to suit us all sorts of joys of life. Why not? That is, unfortunately, the reverse side of logic and it is, rather, leads us to something else, but not to the goodness. So here is the such situation. On this we complete the theoretical part of our lecture and now the questions on this theoretical part.
